Project and Social Media Coordinator/Manager
WHAT IT IS:
Client-facing, project management role that is responsible for the day-to-day management of digital and traditional focused marketing programs and individual web development projects for a variety of clients – Government and Corporate. The individual will work closely with the management team to ensure that deliverables meet client expectations as well as time specifications and quality goals. Responsibilities include: create and manage project plans, estimates, scope of work documents, requirements, risk assessments, specifications, schedules, and budgets. Facilitate effective workflow between creative and technology/production teams. (Internal and External)
You will also be involved with campaign initiatives to generate buzz and online publicity for Sojo’s clients. You will be responsible for developing relationships with bloggers and other social media users to distribute videos, press releases, Facebook apps, and other types of content. You will be responsible for managing this seeding process from beginning to end which includes working with client services and media to identify opportunities, planning the strategy, developing a contact list, implementing outreach, maintaining relationships and communication, reporting the findings, and more.
You will also be looked upon for general PR and blogger relations expertise. You will be expected to understand the dynamics of the blogosphere and be able to navigate the space comfortably. Other responsibilities will include building and writing your own social media channels (i.e. blog, Twitter profile, StumbleUpon, etc.), educating the agency on blogs and seeding, creating presentations, writing POVs, calculating and demonstrating ROI, developing key ongoing relationships with bloggers, and managing any major seeding initiatives and programs at Sojo.
WHAT YOU DO:
- Ensures that all documents have been completed, that deliverables are on schedule and within specification and budget for a given project; manage financial tracking
- Performs cross-functional task management for a given project; manage resource allocation
- Resolve project-related issues; escalates larger project issues and risk as needed for resolution
- Authors and maintains project schedule, project briefs, Statements of Work, change control procedures and cost estimates with input from team members as needed
- Ensures deliverables are complete and of the highest quality possible
- Understand and manage client needs and expectations
- Prepare and maintain project plans and financial reports
- Forecast resource needs and maintain resource allocation plans
- Identify budget and time implications of project scope modifications
- Indirectly manage internal resources within various practice areas
- Coordinate and organize project assets (images, data, documentation, etc.)
- Conduct client, competitive and media research
- Track industry data, analyze results and trends, and recommend strategy
- Consult with account group, media and marketing staff to gather information about a product, service or campaign to determine an opportunity for seeding or blogger outreach.
- assist with management of project strategy consultation. Includes assistance with determining project goals, measurement metrics, conception, planning/brainstorming.
- Work with copy writers to research, write, and edit press materials for clients.
- Conduct strategic media relations that create favorable coverage, incorporating clients' key messages.
- Optimize content distribution strategies to improve search rankings on major search engines and social sites.
- Setting pre-campaign benchmarks.
- Evaluation and compiling of media results for post campaign analysis.
- Maintain appropriate and responsive working relationships with internal departments, clients, bloggers, vendors, partners, etc.
- Provide day-to-day project management on seeding/blogger outreach programs including weekly reporting.
- Responsible for ensuring accurate timelines, projects adhere to budget, and that all outgoing documents are clean, for assigned projects.
- Manage projects to ensure the appropriate allocation of hours towards specific clients and projects.
- Author, constructively edit, review and maintain overall Sojo, Inc. documentation such as weekly status reports, timelines, POVs, strategic plans/presentations, client estimates, etc.
- Provide assistance with new business materials such as information gathering, presentation preparation and written proposal development.
WHAT YOU NEED:
- Ongoing knowledge of web development, email and banner technologies
- 3+ years project management experience and including 2 years experience managing online seeding, blogger outreach, digital PR, and/or video and content distribution projects either from the client, publisher, or agency side.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills in order to manage internal and client expectations
- Experience with large online media, direct marketing and web site development projects
- Understanding of project management methodologies such as RUP and Six Sigma
- Excellent written and verbal skills
- Detailed oriented and take ownership attitude
- Must be highly skilled in time management to facilitate involvement in multiple projects Ability to manage data and content
- Must have the ability to work independently and manage communications at all organizational levels
- Deep understanding of the blogosphere, how it works, who’s important, and how to leverage it.
- General overall knowledge of content distribution, online publishing, and the supportive tools (i.e. social bookmarking). The candidate must understand how content is created, spread, and consumed online.
What You Need To Know:
- BA in Advertising or Marketing preferred
- Advertising Agency experience preferred
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and Microsoft Project
