Junior Designer Profile:
WHAT IT IS:
The Sojo, Inc. Junior Designer is responsible for the conceptualization, development and designs digital marking material and/or traditional executions of finished design material such as collateral material, environmental graphics, newsletters, web design, books and magazines, corporate identity, film titling, and multi-media interfaces, from concept to completion. Depending on project requirements and personal aptitude, assignments will vary from finished art preparation to creation of original material.
Job Responsibilities:
- Following the concept and direction of an Art director or senior designer to produce a wide variety of design for online, including the following: display ads, rich media, interactive kiosk and demos, digital signage, mobile, social marketing, websites, video and digital OOH.
- Work from rough drafts or instructions to prepare digital marketing storyboards or comprehensive layouts that include: online media campaigns, kiosk, online demos, CD ROMs presentations, websites, online promotions, and digital signage
- Produce to completion marketing materials using tools such as Flash, Fireworks, Photoshop, Illustrator, Dreamweaver and various video software
- Complete designs that are on strategy and reflect brand’s personality
- Design logos and collateral materials as directed
- Support on execution the President, Creative Director or Art Director in all facets of project development
- Be knowledgeable and proficient in emerging computer tools and techniques with advertising and/or graphics applications. Actively share such knowledge with others in the creative department
- Passion and detailed with typography, color theory, UI design and animation
- Experience in traditional advertising such as Broadcast and Print
- Staying apprised of new and emerging technology, creative and programming applications for potential use for clients
- Interacts and follows direction from the senior team leaders
- Communicates to Art Director and producers on work status
- Accountable to project time lines.
- Exhibits expertise on all design trends and historic design influences
- Collaborates with senior team members for guidance and direction
- Assist in the developing new business presentations
- Knowledge sharing with all team members
- Continuously search for opportunities to be positive and to share the positive side to every situation
- Accurate and timely reporting of billable and non-billable time
- Stays apprised of new and emerging technology and programming applications for personal and business growth.
- Continue to gain more knowledge in field through professional education. Attend at least one seminar, workshop, or other educational activity annually. Read professional publications to keep current on new creative techniques.

- Assignments are completed on time and conform within instructions
- Verbal and written communication regarding project progress and creative review feedback
- Participates in account team and client planning sessions regarding campaign strategy and the approach to any significant project
- Leads certain creative projects and team members with a hands-on supervisory approach while facilitating a collaborative team environment
- Understands and actively seeks solutions to advance project, client and Sojo Interactive marketing goals
- Participates actively – as he/she sees fit or at the copy/art team’s request – in the development of specific program components such as headlines, graphic approaches, copy slant, etc
- Time entry is accurate and completed in a timely manner
- Work produce meets or exceeds requirements based from creative brief
- Graphic standards are maintained or exceeded in all work
- Relationships with co-workers are harmonious and productive
- Ensures budgets, deadlines, etc. are complete, accurate and followed
- Designs media in a wide variety of styles that correspond to the clients needs
- Keeps President and CD informed about the creative work progress for clients, and about the ways in which those projects are being produced
- Participates in selection of vendors in conjunction with creative and production teams
- Submits accurate time reports weekly
What You Need To Know:
- Bachelor’s degree in Design
- 1-3 years experience in Design including Interactive Design
- Knowledge of current online media trends and technology
- Campaign development that might include online and offline initiatives.
- Experience necessary with all of the following programs: Adobe Photoshop CS3+, Adobe Illustrator CS3+, Adobe Flash
